The Art of Being a Leader
For the senior executive who wants to develop and enhance their leadership through in-depth self discovery
The Crisis in Leadership
“May you live in interesting times.”
What was thought to be an old Chinese curse, has, in fact, turned out to be rather prophetic for the times we now live in.
What makes these times so interesting is the unprecedented level of crisis we’re currently experiencing and the rate at which it is escalating. The current or impending collapse of economies, political systems, ideologies, the rise of fundamentalism, the destruction of our biodiversity and natural resources ultimately all point to a massive crisis in leadership.
What is the Integral Leadership Course about?
If you are not being a leader, and you try to act like a leader, you are likely to fail. That’s called being inauthentic (playing a role or pretending to be a leader), deadly in any attempt to exercise leadership.
Gaining access to being a leader and the effective exercise of leadership as one’s natural self-expression requires dealing with those factors present in all human beings – perceptions, emotions, creative imagination, thinking, planning and actions. When one is not constrained or shaped by these factors – what we term “ontological constraints” – one’s way of being and acting results naturally in one’s personal best. We work with participants so that they accomplish this for themselves.
The Integral Leadership Course provides a transformational experience, which will allow you to find your authentic style of Leadership. It takes you on an intensive journey of personal development and self-awareness to create an experience that will have a lasting impact on the ways in which you lead and the results you produce.
By the end of the programme you will have expanded your emotional comfort zone and have a wider choice of responses in difficult leadership situations. You will develop confidence as a leader, being more clear of what drives you and being more comfortable with ambiguity.
What do I get out of the programme?
- A more genuine, open and sensitive style of leadership.
- An improved understanding of how your behaviour impacts others.
- Increased emotional intelligence and a better ability to empathise and understand why others behave as they do.
- An understanding of how to manage yourself and others under pressure.
- A refreshed sense of purpose, focus and direction.
What does my organisation get out of the programme?
An Executive or Manager who :
- Is more self-aware and is aware of the impact they have on those around them.
- Understands how to build a team and work in fellowship.
- Is more inspired and committed to the organisation.
- Is able to take on more responsibility.
- Is better at handling interpersonal conflicts and organisational politics.

What participants have said:
Armed with awareness and knowing my values and essence of being, I am able to confidently do work that matters, speak up and make a difference in the lives of those I lead and influence daily.
I am amazed at my growth within the organisation. I experience a sense of freedom with the work I do, and am living my values in my personal and work life.
I feel a sense of empowerment as I am building a strong family foundation, whilst still being able to grow my ideal career in a space I previously thought of as, less than ideal.
By clearing out the distractions in my workplace and personal life, I am able to take responsibility for and focus on what is most important to my work and personal goals, and achieve best results.
The SOAR learnings are applicable not only on a personal level but also on a career level.
My leadership capacity has increased, as I give myself permission to be authentic and by practicing the lessons learnt through my SOAR experiences.
I have attended many self-development and organisational development workshops in my career development, but have learnt more in the last year with the SOAR workshops than I have done in my career span of 25 years.
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED; for those who are bold enough to want to live iconic, self-satisfying lives.

The SOAR Institute experience was life changing for me, one that fundamentally changed and enhanced who I am as a person, on a deeply personal level, across all spheres and aspects of my life. This has undoubtedly also positively impacted my work life on a professional level, which I believe has led to a concurrent increase in my leadership capacity and capabilities. The SOAR Institute experience has provided me with the tools to expand my framework of understanding and platform of engagement when it comes to leadership, on a much more mature, deeper and profound level, by essentially allowing me to better understand myself in terms of who I am, my strengths, my weaknesses, my triggers and my habits. I believe that as a leader I am now in the position to be able to positively influence and control whatever is in my ‘sphere of influence’, regardless of the circumstances, people or environment. It is an exciting place to be, albeit that I still have a lot of growing and learning to do (even relearning!), as that is of course a lifetime’s journey. The SOAR Institute should be a mandatory experience if you want to give yourself the priceless gift of enlightenment, self-discovery and understanding.”
