How to get to Peak Performance in Business.
The stakes are at an unprecedented high to perform, to excel and to outperform those around you. Your very survival may depend on it. With a glut of talent available, waiting in the wings to step in and replace you, your job, your contract, your position, your business success is tenuous at best, or perpetually under threat at worst. Anxiety and depression are at record levels, with trajectories heading for the stratosphere because people are feeling the pressure and not responding very well.
How to not only survive in these pressure cooker environments, but thrive is becoming the modern day holy grail of business, with everyone and their uncle on a quest to get more out of themselves, their teams and organisations. What this quest is ultimately about, is discovering how to get people to operate at Peak Performance more consistently and sustainably.
What is Peak Performance?
“There are moments that stand out from the chaos of the everyday as shining beacons. In many ways, one might say that the whole effort of humankind through millennia of history has been to capture these fleeting moments of fulfilment and make them a part of everyday existence.”
Peak Performance is when you’re accessing an optimal level of consciousness, or flow state, where you both feel your best and perform your best.
In the past, it was something that happened to you, either by the grace of happenstance or Divine favour, was fleeting and ultimately highly elusive. That was, until researchers found it in droves, where it had always existed in plain sight but was never fully explored and deconstructed, until now.
Adventure or extreme sport athletes must, because of the very nature of their endeavours, be able to transcend ordinary states of consciousness and slip into an extraordinary, peak performance state. They do this because through their sports, they constantly flirt with death or serious injury and the only way they’re able to perform such superhuman feats, is to access and remain in a state of flow.
And it was here that scientist collated the data, studied the neurochemistry, physiological and biological correlates of flow which now allows us to reverse-engineer the experience for you.
The Holy Grail has been found, when you access and use what it has to offer, you too can become Superman.
Whether it’s Ronaldo or Messi in full flight, Federer’s balletic power, a jazz pianist improvising, an actor with great screen presence, or a master poet delivering love and beauty to the reader through the power of words, Flow is ubiquitous and now completely hackable, and more and more business savvy, forward thinking executives and managers are learning how to leverage it, with astonishing results.
